Last night I went out for a little night scape work with my friend Alana. Once we got our settings figured out, we discovered that the tripod didn't like the cold. It wasn't holding the camera up properly because the metal in the pan head had contracted too much. Unfortunately, we didn't get to stay out as long as we would have hoped, but we got some great shots anyways.
Nicole needed some portraits done for her third year music concert posters. It was a lot of fun meeting her and taking pictures. The session was very successful and both of us were super pleased with the results. All photos were taken with my Nikon D90 and my 24-70 f2.8 lens. The indoor shots are lit with the available light from two big southern exposure windows. The outdoor shots are taken with the available sunlight.
So, for my Sports Photography course, we had to put together a slide of a sporting event. Living at camp made it a little harder for me to find a sporting event, so I got a group of friends together and we all went climbing at the gym so that I could do my homework. All were a great help in me getting my homework done. Thanks to Luke, Jesse, Jasper, Alana, and Stephanie for all being willing models.
All photos were taken with my new Nikon D90 with a 24-70mm f2.8 lens. The lighting is the available light in the gym with my ISO set at 800.
So, my friends and I all piled into a couple of cars and drove down to Montana for a week to camp and climb. We had quite the adventure, and everyone had my camera at some point. This is one of my shots from the trip. I remember lining this one up and just loving how it looked through my viewfinder. This was the last climb of the day and my friend Jasper was getting ready to conquer this climb that he was unable to finish his last time down. It is called Room With a View, and quite the view it has... I had a polarizing filter on my 18-55mm kit lens. The lens was at it's widest angle of 18mm, on my Sony Alpha 200 DSLR.
Okay, so I'm going to try to start doing something new. I want a place to be able to share my photos for people to see. I have a wedding to take photos for in July, and I'm also taking photos at my brother's wedding. We will see how often this actually gets updated. I hope to update this on a fairly regular basis, but with school and work, I'm unsure how often I will acutally get it done.
